Washington Wizards forward Jamir Watkins had successful reconstruction surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, the team announced Thursday.
Watkins, 25, was injured during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The procedure on his knee was performed by Dr. Riley Williams at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, the team said.
Watkins averaged 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 20.6 minutes in 50 games (seven starts) last season as a rookie with the Wizards.
The 43rd overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Florida State, Watkins was selected by the Utah Jazz and acquired by Washington that same night.
