ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – Spring brings the start of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) road construction season.
In 2024, there are 193 planned road and bridge projects statewide and 54 other projects to improve airports, railroad crossings and transit infrastructure.
The significant projects in northeast Minnesota will include the completion of bridge work on I-35 between the Twin Cities and Duluth and the resurfacing of the pavement near Hinckley.
The Twin Ports Interchange project in Duluth will continue.
Resurfacing projects include Highway 169 between Chisholm and Mountain Iron and Highway 2 on the east and west sides of Floodwood.
