UNDATED (KDAL) – Duluth and Superior will be celebrating the 250th birthday of the USA with special Independence Day events on Saturday.
In Duluth, FourthFest will be held at Bayfront Festival Park with live music, plenty of food, family activities and a fireworks display to wrap up the day.
Gates will open at noon with entertainment starting at 12:30 and continuing through 10 p-m when the largest ever fireworks display over the waterfront begins.
The event is free and those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair but no outside food or beverages are allowed.
In Superior, the 4th begins with the annual parade down Belknap Street at 11 a-m which includes a flyover from the 148th Fighter Wing. The parade will be followed by a Car and Motorcycle Show along Tower Avenue at noon.
Activities move to Barker’s Island at 4 p-m with food vendors, a new harbor market, kid’s activities and live music.
The fireworks display in Superior also begins around 10 p-m.
