DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Minnesota Department of Health has placed Water Contact Not Recommended advisories at five North Shore beaches.
Water samples collected at the beaches this week have elevated E. coli bacteria levels that indicate the possible presence of fecal contamination.
The beaches affected are Agate Bay and Burlington Bay in Two Harbors, Twin Points Public Access, Split Rock River and the Split Rock Lighthouse beaches.
The beaches are re-sampled on a regular basis and updated advisories and more information about the monitoring program can be found online at mnbeaches.org.
