DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – On Friday, Minnesota Power held a ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the recently completed Sylvan Solar Project.
This was the last and biggest of three solar projects which also includes arrays at the Laskin Energy Center in Hoyt Lakes and along the Jean Duluth Road in Duluth.
The Sylvan Project covers about 80 acres near Brainerd and provides 15.2 megawatts of electricity.
It also featured a partnership with the White Earth Tribal and Community College to provide hands-on training for the solar training certificate program.
Energy from the site feeds into Minnesota Power’s overall system serving 150 thousand customers.
