ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) – About 400,000 hunters will head to Minnesota’s forests and fields for the start of the gun deer season on Saturday.
The traditional deer hunting season brings families and friends together each year to create life long memories.
The DNR reminds hunters to make sure the annual hunt is a safe one.
Practice gun safety, make sure of your target before shooting, wear blaze orange and use extra care when climbing into and out of tree stands.
Tree stand accidents are the leading cause of injury to hunters. According to national data, as many as one in three hunters who use an elevated stand will fall and sustain a serious injury.
