HERMANTOWN, MN (Northern News Now) – A motorcyclist has died after a crash with an SUV in Hermantown Wednesday morning.
According to Hermantown Police, officers responded around 11 a-m to the crash at the intersection of the Miller Trunk Highway and Stebner Road.
An initial investigation showed that the motorcycle, driven by a 71-year-old man from Hermantown, was traveling northbound on Stebner Road.
The motorcycle was hit by the SUV, driven by a 63-year-old woman from Hermantown, that was traveling westbound on the Miller Trunk Highway.
Authorities say the man was ejected from the motorcycle and was transported by ambulance to a hospital where he later died.
The driver and passenger in the other vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries.
The Hermantown Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team.
The name of the victim has not yet been released by authorities.
