The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation has announced 34 new grants from the Community Opportunity Fund including two five-year grants and 32 one-time grants.
Grants from this fund allocate $1.4 million to address critical needs and support solutions to systemic challenges found across the Northland.
The Community Opportunity Fund has been redesigned to fund larger, collaborative projects that leverage resources for building strong communities.
Grants are divided into four categories–Opportunity, Resilience, Belonging, and Transformation.
The 32 one-year grant amounts average $40,000, significantly increasing the number of large grants in the region. Transformation grants provide up to $100,000 each year for five years
The 2024 Transformation Grants were awarded to the Family Freedom Center in Duluth and to the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
