SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – Two house fires were reported within a half hour of each other on Saturday morning in Superior.
According to the Superior Fire Department, they arrived at the first fire scene on Winter Street around 7:45 a-m and were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby homes. However, the house was considered a total loss estimated at 50 thousand dollars.
While crews were battling that blaze, a second call came in, about 8:20 a-m, regarding a fire at a home on Fisher Avenue.
At that time, mutual aid was requested from the Duluth Fire Department who assisted at the scene.
That home had smoke coming from the windows when crews arrived and was also a complete loss with damages estimated at 150 thousand dollars.
There were no injuries in either fire but a cat perished in the Fisher Avenue blaze.
The homeowners were displaced and are staying with relatives.
The cause of both fires is under investigation.
