COOK COUNTY, MN (KDAL) – A combination of heavy snow, a significant thaw cycle and spring rain indicates the waterfalls along the North Shore of Lake Superior should be spectacular in the coming weeks.
Linda Jurek, the Visit Cook County Executive Director, says they’ve had 135 inches of snow and when warmer weather hits, the waterfalls will be amazing this year.
Cook County alone has at least 15 waterfall viewing locations, most of them accessible after just a short hike.
Waterfall season generally lasts about two weeks and could begin as soon as mid April.
