DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – In 1942, the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Duluth began a weekly broadcast of Sunday services on WDSM radio.
Now, 80 years later, the church is celebrating the anniversary of its broadcast ministry at 10 a-m Sunday.
Pastor David Carlson says the radio broadcast allows them to reach more people to participate in the music, prayers, message and mission of the church.
Carlson has been told they have the longest continuing broadcast of church services in the country.
Listeners and others interested in supporting the broadcast ministry can make monetary gifts in memory or honor of someone special by calling the Gloria Dei church offices at 218-722-3381.
Besides the radio broadcast on 710 WDSM and FM 98.1, streaming video of the 10 a-m Sunday services can be found at gloriadeiduluth.org.
The church is located at 6th Avenue East and 3rd Street for those who wish to attend services in person.
