DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The Duluth Police Department is warning about counterfeit Percocet-30 pills now being seen more frequently across the area.
The pills contain fentanyl making them more powerful and deadlier than the actual Percocet drug.
The fake pills are also difficult to tell from the real thing. The prescription pills should only be obtained through a legitimate pharmacy or licensed provider.
This year, there have been 30 fatal overdoses from various drugs within the City of Duluth and police now have a program to get those struggling with substance abuse the help they need.
The Substance Use Response Team (SURT) bridges barriers and provides resources for recovery support services.
To contact a peer recovery specialist from SURT, call the hotline at 218-730-4009 or go online to https://duluthmn.gov/police/community-policing/problem-solving/
