DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – Now that St. Louis County is experiencing a substantial transmission of COVID-19, face masks are again being recommended for use in indoor public spaces.
That includes those who have already been vaccinated to maximize protection and prevent spreading it to others.
The CDC says substantial transmission is defined as 50 or more cases in a week per 100,000 residents. The case rate in St. Louis County has now risen to 54.4 per 100,000.
Public Health Division Director Amy Westbrook says the highly contagious Delta variant demonstrates how important it is for people to get vaccinated.
Currently 67 percent of those 16 and older have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine in St. Louis County.
