DULUTH, MN (KDAL) – The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Red Flag Warning for Thursday afternoon with low humidity levels and brisk winds in the forecast.
The critical fire weather conditions can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Meanwhile, burning restrictions have been added to several more counties in Minnesota by the Department of Natural Resources.
Cook and Lake Counties are now included in the list of counties where burning permits will not be issued for brush or yard waste until restrictions are lifted.
St. Louis, Carlton and Itasca County are also on the list of over forty counties around Minnesota where dry conditions could lead to rapidly spreading and out of control wildfires.
More information and a complete list of the counties involved can be found at the mndnr.gov website.
