SUPERIOR, WI (KDAL) – A grant from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration will be used by the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve and the City of Superior to improve a rustic boat launch on the Pokegama River.
The nearly 128,500 dollar grant will allow improvements that include a dock, motorized boat launch pad, restroom facilities and more parking.
The launch is located in the Superior Municipal Forest and the City will contribute another 50 thousand dollars to improve the site.
The design of the project was done with a grant from the Wisconsin Department Coastal Management Program.
The work should be complete next summer.
