Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Area law enforcement have been busy looking to curb drunk drivers, but who knew one of them was driving one of these when they were busted earlier this month. The Minnesota State Patrol says in the early morning hours of Sunday, March 9th, a trooper spotted—of all things—a stolen piece of construction equipment being driven down a sidewalk near Superior Street and Michigan Avenue. Through the course of their investigation, the driver admitted to stealing the Catepillar backhoe. The Proctor man allegedly was drunk, more than twice the legal limit. He’s been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and second-degree D-W-I.
