DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 17th Annual Duluth and St. Louis County Days lobbying event at the State Capitol in St. Paul on Wednesday and Thursday this week. Around 400 people are expected to make the trip to request support from legislators for issues important to Duluth and the region. In this bonding year, the delegation will be looking for state money for area projects that include renovations to Wade Stadium, the Norshor Theater and buildings at UMD and Lake Superior College. Spirit Mountain is looking for bonding to help fund a new snow making system that would take water directly from the St. Louis River rather than using the City of Duluth water supply. The event begins with legislative meetings Wednesday afternoon followed by a Grand Reception at the Crowne Plaza St. Paul Riverfront from 5 to 8 p-m and wraps up with a breakfast on Thursday morning.
