Duluth To Celebrate The 75th Anniversary Of Enger Tower On Sunday

DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The public is invited to join the City of Duluth in celebrating the 75th Anniversary of the dedication of the Enger Tower on Sunday.  The iconic landmark was dedicated by Crown Prince Olav and Princess Martha of Norway on June 15th in 1939.  The community celebration will be held from 10 a-m to 5 p-m Sunday at Enger Park and will include several food vendors and activities for the kids from the Duluth Art Institute and the Children's Museum.  Mayor Don Ness will host the official program that begins at 1 p-m and tour talks around the park will take place during the afternoon.  Enger Tower was named for Bert Enger, a native of Norway, successful furniture dealer in Duluth and the man who donated the land for the park and the funds for the tower.
