Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The fall broke her neck, but Molly Van Dyke has full use of her limbs and the Hibbing woman, who fell into an old mine pit in Chisholm, at last check, was listed in ‘good’ condition at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center. The 29 year-old released a statement Tuesday afternoon. After she accidentally fell some 100 feet, hitting the water at the bottom of the pit, Molly is recovering. Beyond suffering a broken neck, Van Dyke was also cut and bruised in the fall. She was airlifted from the Iron Range to the Duluth hospital. Van Dyke says she’s thankful for the outpouring of compassion and prayer from the community, the rescuers who came to her aid and the doctors and nurses at St. Mary’s who are caring for her.
