UNDATED (KDAL) - The AAA Monthly Gas Report showed that February saw the largest nationwide increase in gasoline prices since July as prices rose about 17 cents a gallon over the month. The national average has also increased for 21 days in a row, the longest consecutive streak since a year ago February. Gas prices typically rise at this time of year as many refineries cut production to conduct seasonal maintenance which tends to limit gas supplies. The AAA forecasts that prices will continue to rise before peaking at 3.55 to 3.75 a gallon by late March or early April. Current prices in Duluth range from 3.37 to 3.45 a gallon, the Minnesota average is around 3.47 and the national average is at 3.43.
