ST. PAUL, MN (KDAL) - Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton has chosen Tina Flint Smith, his current Chief of Staff, to be his running mate in the upcoming election. Smith will replace Yvonne Prettner Solon on the ticket as Dayton's choice for Lieutenant Governor. Duluth's Prettner Solon announced last month that she was not going to run again. Governor Dayton made his choice public on Tuesday during a rally at the AFL-CIO offices in St. Paul. Dayton also said that Jamie Tincher, Deputy Chief of Staff for Legislative Affairs, will serve as his new Chief of Staff beginning February 11th when Smith steps down.
