Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Alcohol and speed appear to have played roles in causing a fatal crash in northern St. Louis County. That’s according to the sheriff’s office, which says the wreck happened Wednesday evening at around 8:00 in the 99-hundred block of Gamma Road in Kabetogama Township. That’s where a car driven by Jonathan Earl Stevenson rolled over and slammed into a tree. Investigators believe Stevenson lost control of the car after coming out of a curve. It appears he over-corrected and flipped the car. The 43 year-old International Falls man was pronounced dead at the scene while his passenger, Tara Dawn Reller, was trapped inside the wrecked vehicle when deputies arrived on the scene. The 38 year-old woman, also from International Falls, was airlifted to St. Luke’s hospital in Duluth with non-life threatening injuries. The investigation continues.
