Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The Duluth school district has a clearer idea of how their finances may pan out next year. This week the school board sifted through financial reports and learned that next year’s General Fund levy will either remain flat—if voters approve both ballot questions—or will fall by more than $4 million. As is, the previous referendum approved in 2008 will expire, resulting in the decrease. They also learned that the Debt Service levy is expected surge higher by $4 million due to slow property sales. Officials caution that these figures are preliminary and will likely change before the final levy is calculated and presented to the board in December.
