DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The Minnesota Department of Education has released the Multiple Measurement Ratings (MMR) for schools in the state. The MMR measures growth toward raising achievement for all students and closing the achievement gap between various student groups. Most Duluth schools saw gains with the Laura MacArthur Elementary leading the pack. That school was designated a priority school last year because of a large achievement gap and not enough student growth reflected in its MMR of 3.49. This year's results showed Laura MacArthur with an MMR of 64.91. Superintendent Bill Gronseth attributes that growth to strong leadership within the school and active and ongoing support from parents and the community.
