DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - A one and a half mile stretch of the Arnold Road north of Duluth has been closed until further notice due to a culvert failure at Amity Creek. The St. Louis County Public Works Department has closed the road between County Roads 247 and 287. Detour signs have been posted to direct traffic around the closure. Crews are making temporary repairs and suspect the failure was due to a combination of beaver activity in the area and recent rains. As part of the County's 2013 road program, all culverts along Arnold Road are slated to be replaced later this summer and the road will be repaved in 2014.
