MOORHEAD, MN (KDAL) - The Forum News Service is reporting that Kevin Ferris, Duluth's "Rose Man," died Friday when the small plane he was piloting between Superior and Moorhead went down in a western Minnesota field. Clay County authorities found the pilot among the wreckage outside of Hawley, MN. According to the News Service, authorities believe limited visibility and fog might have been the cause of the crash; Ferris might have been looking for an alternative landing site at the time, as the crash site was a few miles from a regional airport. Ferris had been on his way to visit his family in Moorhead for Easter, his partner, Roz Randorf, told the News Service. Together, the couple owned the popular Rose Man shop on Central Entrance.
