MADISON, WI (KDAL) - As expected, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will sign mining legislation on Monday that will ease the regulatory path for an iron ore operation in the Penokee Hills just south of Lake Superior. Walker will hold two signing ceremonies Monday; the first is at 1:10 p.m. at Oldenburg Group Inc. in Rhinelander, and the second will be in Milwaukee at P & H Mining Equipment at 3:50. The legislation, a centerpiece of Walker's job-creation plan, was two years in the making and came amid opposition from democrats and environmental groups.
