Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Every couple of years birdwatchers here in the Northland get a treat as rare owls flock here over the winter in search of food. Not all of them are lucky. The Duluth office of the State Department of Natural Resources says they have found three dead owls in the Twin Ports, two Great Greys and a Boreal. They most likely died of starvation.
You might recall that the last time the owls were here Park Point was infested with a herd of rabbits. Thanks to the fox the rabbits are gone and the hunting owls are going hungry.
