COOK, MN (KDAL) - Fire departments from Cook and several nearby communities battled a fire at 114 River Street South in Cook on Monday night. The building was home to the Cook Dollar Barn, Gilley's Naturals and 8 apartment units. All of the occupants of the apartments were accounted for and nobody was injured in the fire. Both of the stores were closed for the day when the fire started. The building was a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Department and the State Fire Marshall. The Red Cross is assisting the occupants of the apartments.
