DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - The much delayed planting of flowers for the downtown and waterfront areas of Duluth will be Thursday at Bayfront Park. Snow delayed the first several attempts and rain washed out the event on Wednesday. Crates of flowers will be delivered by Engwalls on Thursday morning and volunteers will transplant them into 150 streetscape planters at Bayfront. City crews will then move the planters into the downtown and waterfront areas for the summer. About 60 people are needed to help do the planting and lunch will be provided by the Inn on Lake Superior. The Greater Downtown Council is asking volunteers should show up at Bayfront at 10 a-m Thursday and bring garden tools and gloves if you have them.
