Duluth, MN (KDAL) - One person is dead following a two-vehicle accident near the Lafayette Bluff Tunnel on Hwy. 61 on Friday afternoon. The crash happened about 3 p.m. and closed the highway in both directions for a time. According to the state patrol, a northbound vehicle spun out and went sideways before being struck on the passenger side by a southbound vehicle. The roadway was icy at the time of the crash, the patrol said. Both directions were reopened about 7 p.m.
