Important news regarding the Last Place on Earth problem. Today, Judge Floerke ruled in the City's favor by deeming the business a nuisance property. The temporary injunction orders that Carlson must pay the City to place two police officers on site to mitigate the problems caused by this business.
As I have mentioned before - LPOE has put the burden on the community by externalizing the costs of his business onto people that want nothing to do with him or his products. That's wrong. The fact that police calls have increased by 81% because of his operations was cited by the Judge.
This ruling takes an important step forward to mitigating the burden and putting that cost back onto Carlson. More importantly, if/when the ruling of a nuisance property is upheld in the permanent injunction ruling, by state statute the business would be shut down for one year.
