DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - Portions of the Willard Munger Trail between Duluth and Carlton will be closed starting this week to repair damage caused by last summer's flood. Crews have already begun work on the St. Louis River and Forbay bridges, and will work to resurface the trail from the Forbay bridge to Carlton. That could take up to six weeks, the DNR said, and the trail will be closed between Thomson and Carlton during that period. Closures will affect West Duluth beginning in early June, where the section between the Willard Munger Inn and 93rd Avenue West will be closed for repair. Other portions of the trail will remain open throughout the summer, although certain patches will be unpaved where repairs are needed.
