(KDAL) - The Minnesota State Patrol, county and local police will be increasing their DWI enforcement presence this weekend. Since 2007 on Halloween party weekends, over 2300 motorists have been arrested for DWI in Minnesota. Besides steep fines and possible loss of driving privileges, drunk driving crashes have resulted in 651 deaths during the past five years. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety urges partiers to plan ahead for a safe ride home with a designated driver, cab or public transportation.
