(KDAL) - The Minnesota Health Department has recorded its first two laboratory confirmed cases of the flu for the season. Although monitoring of the flu doesn't begin until October 1st, there have been some sporadic cases reported throughout the summer. The Health Department says most flu occurs between October and April in Minnesota and usually peaks in February. Influenza vaccination is recommended for everyone six months and older especially those at risk for complications including pregnant women, seniors, young children and those people with chronic medical conditions. Flu shots are available from your doctor or at a variety of other locations.
