DULUTH, MN (KDAL) - A movement following the June floods to make sure would-be visitors to Duluth knew the city was still open for business, paid off as tourism taxes in Duluth went up by five percent in July over the same month the year before. The spearhead of that marketing effort was the Visit Duluth President and CEO, Terry Mattson, who worked with local, state and federal officials to get the message out that the city's tourism infrastructure was undamaged and ready for business. Mattson was recognized for his efforts with the 2012 Vision Award for Leadership from the Minnesota Hospitality Industry. The award was presented last month in Minneapolis.
