Madison, WI (KDAL) - A Federal Judge has put a halt on plans for Native Americans to hunt deer after dark in Northern Wisconsin. Judge Barbara Crabb ruled that Wisconsin's law against shining deer rules the day....and the night. There will be a Federal Hearing on the issue on December 12th.
The Great Lakes Indian Fish and Wildlife Commission had ruled that night time deer hunting would be legal for enrolled members of the Chippewa tribe. They made that decision after Wisconsin approved nighttime hunting of wolves.
