Duluth, MN (KDAL) - Last night there were two issues not on the agenda that were brought up for discussion. The first was a "Free S peach Zone" at the Bayfront Festival Park for the Bentleyville Tour of Lights. Two preachers are suing the city over being banned from testifying to the public inside the display. They have been banned to an area near the parking lot. Councilors complained that the change was a surprise to them. The two preachers lawsuit in Federal Court is a free speech issue and is going forward.
Councilor Sharla Gardner complained that the City's plans to auction off the Park Point Fire Hall next month was moving to rapidly. The building is historic she argued. Gardner represents Park Point. The building is up for grabs at auction on December 14th. The opening bid is $175,000.
