Duluth, MN (KDAL) - The City of Duluth is putting up some great Lakefront Property for sale, the former Park Point fire hall is on the auction block. The starting bid is one hundred and seventy five thousand dollars for the land and building. The latter is almost a hundred years old and the city administration says it looks that way. The fire hall was closed in summer, much to the chagrin of Park Point residents. Duluth City Councilor Sharla Gardner represents the district and says she is against the sale. The building is historic she says and wants to find some other use for the agining structure.
One firefighter was assigned to the fire hall when it was closed in July, part of a plan to consolidate the city's fire department.
