Split Rock Lighthouse, MN (KDAL) - Tomorrow is the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the laker that went down in a gale on November 10, 1975. As has been the maritime tradition here, in Detroit and Whitefish Bay, the names of the dead will be read off one-by-one and ships bell will chime. The local observance will be Saturday at the Split Rock Lighthouse at sundown.
Following the reading the beacon at the Northshore landmark will be lit.
