UWSP Women's Baskeball: Easy win in the Dells Thursday

WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. – Senior Sam Barber (Schofield, WI/D.C. Everest/Winona St.) tallied 21 points for the Pointers as the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team cruised to a 74-35 victory Thursday evening over the Engineers.

UWSP went on a 12-0 run to start out the game, building its first half lead to as many as 23 points, which came with one minute remaining in the half.

Barber, who played just 15 minutes in the contest, went 9-for-12, including 3-for-4 from beyond the arc and pulled down five rebounds.

Jamie Destache (Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) recorded a career-high 11 points going 5-for-6 from the field and Josi Schultz (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) chipped in with 10.

Eleven different Pointers tallied a basket in the victory as the Pointers gradually built their second half lead to 39 points to end the game.

Three different MSOE players tallied double digits as Megan Kroll led the way with 12 points.

UWSP returns to action Friday against Ripon College in the Wisconsin Dells. Action set for 7:30 p.m.
