MADISON, WI (WSAU) The Wisconsin Badgers defeated cross-state rival UW Green Bay 65-54 Wednesday night. Ryan Evans led the Badgers with 13 points on the way to the win. Jared Berggren and Sam Dekker each chipped in 10 points.
Keifer Sykes was the Phoenix leading scorer with 14 points and Brennan Cougill added 12. The loss leave UW-GB with a 3-6 record.
The Badgers rebounded from their Saturday loss to Marquette, where they couldn't find the basket at the start of the game with only 4 scores in their first 14 shots.
Green Bay had a first-half lead for a while, but the Badgers went on a 15-4 run near half time and then a 12-4 run early in the second half. They never looked back from there. The Phoenix could not get closer than nine points behind Bucky the rest of the way.
