MERRILL, Wis. (WSAU) – Police have identified a 19-year-old Merrill woman who died when she crashed into a farm tractor yesterday.
The Lincoln County sheriff’s office says Cynthia McGee was passing several cars on Highway K when she crashed into the tractor as it was turning on Park Avenue. McGee was trapped in the car and firefighters had to pull her to safety. She later died at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
McGee was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Police do not think alcohol was a factor.
The tractor driver, 35-year-old Chris Lutzewitz of Black Creek, was not hurt.
McGee is the third traffic death in the county this year.
The State Patrol is investigating the crash and helping to reconstruct the accident.
