Minnesota Legislative Session Ends With No Budget Agreement

ST. PAUL, Min. (KDAL) - The 2011 Minnesota Legislative Session came to a close Monday night with no agreements on a budget balancing bill between Republican leaders and Democratic Governor Dayton.  Democrats accused the Republicans of being unwilling to compromise on their cuts only budget plan while the Governor looks for increasing taxes on those with the highest incomes.  Republican legislators are touring the state Tuesday talking about the budget balancing plans they sent to the governor.  All nine of the budget bills passed by the legislature were vetoed early Tuesday afternoon by Governor Dayton who again called for compromise and a balanced solution.  An agreement will need to be reached and a special session called to avoid a partial government shutdown at the end of June.
