ST. PAUL, Min. (MNN) - The White House has signed a disaster declaration for 20 counties in Minnesota after spring flooding. The declaration means FEMA will take on 75-percent of the cost of repair, debris removal and emergency services in the wake of high water. Governor Dayton will ask the legislature to fund the remaining 25-percent of the ten-point-eight-million-dollar damage assessment. The counties under the Presidential Disaster Declaration include: Big Stone, Blue Earth, Brown, Carver, Chippewa, Clay, Grant, Lac Qui Parle, Le Sueur, Lyon, McLeod, Nicollet, Redwood, Renville, Scott, Sibley, Stevens, Traverse, Wilkin and Yellow Medicine counties.
