Grand Rapids, MN – Lake Country Power line crews worked through the night and will continue working today to restore power throughout the Grand Rapids and Kettle River service areas.

Nearly 1,800 Lake Country Power members are without power from yesterday and today’s weather conditions. High wind speeds in both service areas and snow build-up in the Kettle River service area are causing trees to fall—busting poles and power lines. Dead Red Oak and some live spruce and balsam trees are causing the greatest damage. Crews have to rebuild lines in some areas.

Unless weather conditions persist and hamper restoration efforts today, Lake Country Power anticipates the majority of members will have power restored by this evening.
