You don't think it could ever happen to you...

by Jessie Hawkins

October 22nd, 1989, Jacob Wetterling was riding home from the gas station on his bike with his brother and friend.  A masked gunman stopped the boys and told them to lay face down in a ditch and asked each their age.  He let the other two boys go...but Jacob Wetterling was taken.  He was taken from his home, his family, his friends, his school, he was taken against his will.  24 years later...Jacob is still missing.  I did not personally know Jacob or the family but I remember hearing about it as a kid and I remember feeling sad and scared.  I'm now a mother and I could not imagine the devestation, rage and sadness I would feel if anyone ever tried to harm my child.  Patty Wetterling still hopes to be reunited with her son Jacob.  The above video is from the Jacob Wetterling Foundation for missing and exploited children.  Share it...
