Sure we all want to lose a few pounds at least, and here is a surefire way for you to do that.

The National Bike Challenge , NBC, awards you points for each time you ride your bike from May 1st through September 30th. Are the points really worth anything? No, but they can still be a great motivator to keep you active. You can see your point total online and see how you are doing in regard to other NBC members.

Last year 34,528 riders logged more than 18 Million miles riding bikes all around the country. When you stop and think about that, it's a pretty good accomplishment. Not only is there the exercise benefit, it is also estimated that more than 2 million dollars in commuting costs were saved.

So gather a few coworkers, or friends and dust off your old bike seat. You don't have to ride fast or far to get out and enjoy biking. Heck pedal down to the nearest restaurant, brew house, or the movie theater.
