Sleep Well, Egon

by Nick Vitrano

Most likely identify him with his role in Ghostbusters, but do a quick mental IMDB (or an actual IMDB) and you’ll rapidly recognize the incomparable talent of the actor/writer/director/producer, Harold Ramis.

Animal House, Meatballs, Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II – foundation films of my youth.

Groundhog Day, Analyze This, Bedazzled – just a few from my adult life…and all the aforementioned are just ones he wrote.

Harold Ramis was as good as it gets.  This being a sports arena, it would have been easy to toss up any scene from Caddyshack and call it a blog, but we’re likely to see and hear a lot of that (justifiably) over the next few days, so I wanted to call attention to another fantastically written Harold Ramis work that fuses sports and life: Back to School.

Ladies and gentlemen, as we remember, forget not the Triple Lindy.  Rest in peace, Harold Ramis.
