Delegate These Jobs for a Stress-Free Thanksgiving

Posted by Scott Hanson on

Guests and family members always ask, "How can I help?" at holiday gatherings. Instead of turning down the assistance, delegate these jobs to make Thanksgiving a little easier and less stressful for you:

  • Checking Coats: Designate someone in advance, or give the first guest to arrive this task. That way you won't have to run back and forth from the kitchen to the front door every time a guest arrives.

  • Tending Bar: Set out all the glassware and garnishes needed, but feel free to assign a loved one this fun job. The bartender is usually the most popular person at any party – so don't feel bad about asking someone to mix the drinks.

  • Clearing the Table: Tell your sister or best girlfriend ahead of time that they are going to help you clear the dishes after dinner. Clean up will be a snap with a little company and help.

  • Bringing Dessert: When your in-laws tell you they want to bring dessert – let them! You don't have to do everything. (RealSimple)
